To do calibration on the metal detector, please do as follows. 

1. Turn on the unit and set the right knob to approximately 50% make sure not hold the plate of the metal detector close to any metal. 

2. Push and hold the red button on the detector, and then adjust the "TUNE" button until it is in zero position (the yellow part). 

3. Then let go of the red button, and you are ready to find metal. 

After you found metal, it can be necessary to zero it again by push/hold the red button and then adjust the tune button again.
